As a result of the significant growth Gemco Valve has experienced in the last three quarters, the company has expanded the existing engineering staff. Gemco Valve Enhances Engineering Resources – “We needed to make sure we’re keeping up with the increased orders and stay on the leading edge of technical software capabilities,” said Jim Lenihan, President of Gemco Valve. Lenihan received his Engineering degree from University of Limerick, Ireland.
In addition to Lenihan, who has 30 years in design and manufacturing management, Gemco Valve’s Engineering Department consists of industry veterans who together have more than seventy five years of experience.
Doug Krok received his degree in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1991 and specializes in applications and customer service. “I’ve been with Gemco Valve for thirteen years and we now have more requests than ever from customers who want specialized, custom equipment – especially in food and pharmaceutical processing,” Krok said.
“Gemco is extending CAD services and simulating more designs in order to deliver exactly what customers require,” added Joe Osowski who is a New Jersey certified Professional Engineer. Joe has been a consulting engineer with Gemco Valve since 1999. “Today, we work smarter and even the most specialized engineering teams are cross functional,” said Osowski, a graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technology with more than twenty years of mechanical engineering experience.
The newest member of Gemco Valve Engineering Department is George Puica, a technical maven from Rutgers University. George, a native of Romania who came to the States in 1998, is skilled in Auto Cad and fast becoming a wiz at SolidWorks, a digital 3D design program. “Basic engineering principles have been the same for many years, but materials, materials processing techniques and design have changed radically,” George said. “Modeling and simulation is now done before manufacturing resulting in more accurate assemblies and better designs for the end user.”
Lenihan sees combining George’s 21st century Web 2.0 proficiencies with the skills of seasoned engineers as the way to keep Gemco Valve in the forefront of the industry.
