Image below is a close-up of a 16” Gemco Valve shut-off disc with rake to break up a wet food product. The disc rake is used to un-clog solids that have a tendency to hang up (bridge) when they are fibrous and/or wet. The food grade valve is designed for sanitary service with the internal surfaces are polished to #7 mirror finish. The vacuum rated valve will be part of double-dump airlock and is fitted with additional ports for pressure equalization.
